FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

01 | When Does the Season Start?

Our Season begins in the Fall normally 1 – 2 weeks after Labor Day and ends in November 1 – 3 weeks prior to Thanksgiving. The season resumes in the Spring Late March or Early April and ends the week prior to Father’s Day. 8 – 9 games are scheduled per session.

02 | What happens in case of inclement weather?

The DPSC will post on the website if the games or Developmental Training Sessions are canceled for inclement weather or poor field conditions. Normally an hour prior to our first game or session. Also, take a look at our Facebook pages as we may post there as well. Division Coordinators are also contacted in order to advise Coaches. Check with your Developmental Coordinator as some will provide cancellation information for their group.

03 | How do I prepare my child for game day with the proper uniform?
  • Team Jersey
  • Shorts (over sweats in cold weather is okay)
  • No hooded sweatshirts underneath the uniform
  • Soccer Cleats (you child cannot play with baseball cleats)
  • Shin Guards
  • Socks over shin guards
  • Water bottle
  • No jewelry (earrings, rings, watches, necklaces, or bracelets)
  • No eyeglasses (sports type or safety only)
  • No hard or sharp-edged hair clips (soft scrunchies only)
04 | Where are the games played?

Intramural Team Games:

  • All Intramural teams will play their games at Homer Ave. Field

Travel Team Games:

  • U9 and U10 Home games are played @ JFK Elementary Field with some local travel away games.
  • U11 and U12 Home games are played at Homer Ave Field with some local travel away games.
  • U13 and Up Home games are played at Birchwood Park Turf field. (for directions visit our Fields Page)
05 | What day & time are the games?

Intramural Games:

  • Games are played on Saturdays,
  • Schedule times vary each week. Games can begin @ 9am and normally run on the hour until 3pm for our intramural teams, U4 through U8.

Travel Teams:

  • For travel teams, the day is determined by the league you are playing in. At the beginning of each season, the league provides your coach with a schedule and division your team will be playing in, generally, your coach will hand off this information to your team. However, once you know your child’s division you can obtain schedule information and standings @ this link http://www.lijsoccer.com (the schedule and standings info will be under the competitions tab then go to League Schedule / Standing)
06 | When & Where are practices?

Practice times are based on your volunteer coach schedule and player availability. Practices are held at the Homer Ave Fields for all Little Falcons, Flyweight, PeeWee, and Bantam teams. Little Falcons & Flyweight practice play on the same day.

07 | Does the club provide any training?

The DPSC provides professional licensed trainers for each age group U6 through U9 in the form of clinics and training sessions.

08 | Are you still in need coaches or volunteers?

The club is always looking for help in all areas. You can sign up under your account and choose what area you can help the best. Please contact [email protected].

09 | Why am I not receiving emails from the club?

The DPSC sends emails based on the information entered when your individual account was built. General emails will go to all email addresses for each account email, individual program emails go to the email address entered for that registrant. If no email it will default to the account owner’s email. Some of the emails are sent as @deerparksoccer.com please verify that they are not being blocked or sent to spam.

10 | Is Registration still open?

Our early online registration period begins on June 1st – June 10th, followed by our regular online registration through June 30th and then our late online registration. All registrations after that date will be assed a late fee and go on a waitlist and will be placed on a team based on availability. Please note that an account must be created and a waitlisted order must be placed with a confirmation number received to be placed on the waitlist.

(Please note that Intramural age groups may play within two age groups. This is always subject to change depending on enrolled registered participants)

12 | What equipment do I need?

Intramural Teams and Travel Teams

  • Shin guards
  • Cleats
  • Balls
  • U4-U6 uses #3 ball
  • U7 – U12 uses #4 ball
  • U13 and up uses #5 ball

Intramural Teams:

  • Uniforms and Balls are included in the registration fee.
