Dear Parents, Players & Coaches,

The Deer Park Soccer Club is proud to present new team formations for our Boys & Girls U9 program for the Fall 2010\Spring 2011! The DPSC has realigned our U9 Division to better development the children of the club and provide growth opportunities and competition levels based on the children's skills, commitment and love of the game. The club has aligned itself with our other Long Island Club counterparts thru Long Island Junior Soccer and SSI to provide this opportunity to all our U9 children. Below are several of the guidelines that will be instituted for our Fall 2010\Spring 2011 Season.

Guidelines for Future U9 Developmental Program:

• All U9 Girls and Boys will participate in Interleague or Pre-Travel in accordance with the DPSC, the club will participate in SSI or similar organization, the age group will no longer participate in intramural
• All Boys and Girls registered players born 8/1/01-7/31/02 will be eligible to participate in Player assessments in order to determine placement into the proper program level
• Player Assessments will be held the week of June 21st 2 nights, two player assessment nights will be provided, attendance is mandatory and a min of 1 assessment must be attended. Player assessment dates and times will be posted on the DPSC website www.deerparksoccer.com  
• All players evaluations will be provided by Coastal
• Team formation will be based on Coastal evaluations
• Coaches will be selected for each newly formed team
• All teams fall under the jurisdiction of the Deer Park Soccer Club
• The club will appoint Developmental Coordinators for each U9 age group
• Any players who register late after the June Player Assessments will be subject to a skills evaluation and placed accordingly based on team availability
• The club will provide player assessments prior to the Spring season in order to properly chart the development of players and assign accordingly
• Commitment thru practice & game attendance will be considered as part of the evaluation process
• All developmental players in the U9 age group will have practice twice a week  and train as one group with training provided by the DPSC
• The club will endeavor to have all children of the age play and develop as part of the current DPSC Developmental program
• The DPSC will provide Pre Travel Uniforms for the U9 Developmental Teams, all numbering will be provided by the DPSC
• Goal Keeper training will be provided to the U9 Developmental Group
• All participating children should be registered for the Fall 2010\Spring 2011 Season http://www.sportssignup.com/Deer-Park-Soccer-Online-Registration.start

The DPSC looks forward to increasing the level of enjoyment and skill in our players. The U9 Developmental Travel program provides an excellent opportunity for the children to bring their best effort to every game, focus on continuing to learn and improve every week, and that part of the learning process are mistakes and how not to be discouraged from them and to keep working hard. The club is committed to providing these valuable lessons to all our members with the help of our PCA ( www.positivecoach.org ) Partnership and the support of our Coaches, Parents and Players.
